QNRF festivities inside a traditional tent
The Public Relations Department of QNRF held a ceremony for QNRF's employees and partners to celebrate Qatar National Day and learn more about the past, present and future of the dynamic country. A traditional tent was set up in one of QNRF's meeting spaces at its office location in downtown Doha. Flags, food, gift bags, a traditional tea service and music of Qatar created a festive and warm environment.
Guests stood quietly in contemplation as the celebration started with a speech by Dr. Abdul Sattar Al-Taie, QNRF's Executive Director, who highlighted the significance of this special day to Qatar and congratulated His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Heir Apparent, for the progress made under their wise leadership.
Dr. Al-Taie ended his speech by encouraging QNRF staff to continue their mission to support the goals and aspirations of the leadership in transforming Qatar into a knowledge-based economy.
Dr. Nabeel al Salem, QNRF's Deputy Executive Director then spoke, emphasizing the importance of the celebration on the 18th of December, which commemorates the founder of the modern state of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani. He also spoke of the many changes that have taken place in just a decade and how vital collaboration has been to the transformation of the country and the attainment of many goals so far.
